This edition showcases a few of the many people, places, and things Odessa can be boastful of. The annual EMS banquet was a time to honor those first responders who run toward emergencies when most are fleeing or unsure of what to do. We commend all of the men and woman who have chosen this vocation and who make a difference in Odessians lives.
The Odessa Y is celebrating 50 years…many of us have enjoyed their numerous programs throughout these five decades, especially flag football which is in season currently. Share your sports pictures with us on Instagram @midland_ odessalivingmagazine or on Facebook. We are excited to introduce our new Social Media Coordinator and longtime staff writer, Haley Ragsdale. Meet her and a few of the many others who work hard to put together each edition of Odessa Living Magazine on the Contributors page (pages 22 and 23).
Words cannot describe the anguish felt for those injured and for those whose lives were stolen from them in the horrific events that took place on August 31st. The Odessa community has rallied around its neighbors in the days that followed. Let’s remember that those affected will continue to need support, prayers, a listening ear, and compassion as they navigate through the days ahead. All of us at Odessa Living share our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those who lost their lives and are continuing to recover.
